A B O U T

W H O ?  A Realtor, her Crafty Counterpart and her kids, Thing One and Thing Two. Transplants to Nashville, TN.

Just to be clear: I’m not a writer, photographer, or designer…just a gal with a vision who isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty.

W H A T ?  A 70’s modern home, that was still in the 70’s…but not in a good way. It needed some serious TLC.  We’ve made some big improvements, but there’s still LOTS to do…and for once, we’ll have some photographic evidence. This started as just a visual journal for the renovations, but it has been evolving, just as our homes do.

The house was built from a design by Henry D Norris of Heritage Home Plans, Inc. out of Atlanta, GA in 1977. The plans we have found are dated 6/12/1973, Plan #2041, but when the house was built 4 years later, a few things were customized to be slightly different than the original plan.

As for furnishing this place, my approach is best captured in this interview. I love scrounging for vintage modern bargains, fixing up junk, and sharing what I learn along the way. If nothing in the house is overly precious, then I don’t waste energy worrying about the kids ruining it. Inexpensive doesn’t have to mean boring, though…you’ll see!

W H Y ?  We have big plans for our new digs, and we’ve never had pictures from past renovations.  When we started this project, most of our family and friends were far away, and when they were asking for photos of all our work on the house, it made sense to direct them all to one location. This, however, has proved futile. I am still expected to provide “hard copies” of photos…Yes, I mean YOU.

So, can we make this place groovy?  I don’t know, but we’ll have fun trying!

You can see how it’s coming along at the Tour in the top menu.

Thanks for visiting.

Below: A collection of  before shots with the original homeowners items in them.  There are no afters in my world…only now, since after would indicate being finished.  I’m never finished.
