Since I’m obviously pining for spring a bit…

$3500 via V and M
I see this faux bois as my little Snow White set….nestled in the woods in a small clearing with fawns at my feet and birds singing above me…..THINK AGAIN FOOL.
$1500 via 1st Dibs
Just love ‘em and hate their price.

$2875 for these nice and groovy NOT Bertoias.
ANOTHER lovely Snow White set… hey, for $11,000, it should rake the leaves of the whole damn forest for me as well…..

Vladamir Kagan Set for $4500 at PS Modern Way….UGH!!! Oops…I drooled a bit on my keyboard…
Concrete “Drift” bench from Unica…only $17, 265!

Stone lamps FINALLY went on sale…but to $408 each from $611….sigh….
Last, but not least..my latest design obsession… vintage Van Keppel and Green/VKG Chaises. “Doublewides” as they call them…which is hilarious given the trailer connotation around here. I’ll live in THIS doublewide any day thank you.

sigh…$1800 for the pair or $9 hundo each…so LOVE these.
For those new to ModFruGal, I’ll post the lottery picks disclaimer…when I win the lottery, I will spend my new wealth on these shallow and meaningless objects only when the aged parents, charitable causes and purchase of an overseas home have all been attended to…c’mon..I’m not a COMPLETE monster.

When those photos of The Ace Hotel in Palm Springs, and the Thunderbird in Marfa were making the rounds many moons ago, I never stopped obsessing about those patio chairs. The fact that I could only find ONE retailer in the whole US seemed ludicrous. Somehow, after a silly amount research, I found this Canadian import company, Innit, who was a new wholesaler of the chairs, as well as a couple of other similar designs. We e-mailed back and forth about shipping, customs etc..as I hoping I could get them wholesale…they are NOT cheap. There was a minimum purchase I couldn’t handle, so I filed it away for the lottery win.
I got an e-mail from them yesterday saying that they have secured some retailers in the US and would sell retail to the public direct. Sadly, $400 each is still a bit steep for me right now, but it was good info to share for those with the means. Lots of colors to choose from, with a choice of black or chrome bases….I REALLY want the red with the black base, but if I can’t have them…maybe you can! More info with pricing and retailers here.

What are the holidays without materialism, greed and good old fashioned “gimme, gimme”? In keeping with the spirit, I have not just one lottery pick, but instead spent far too long on 1st Dibs pretending money is no object…enjoy!

Waylande Gregory Peacocks …yes, birds…these lovelies are $2500.

Kalmar Lamp….”Contact Dealer” …If you have to ask…you can’t afford it.

Karl Springer laquered goatskin stools….again, “Contact Dealer”

Schneider crystal lamp….only $3600.

Sol Bloom scoop chairs…$2800.

Madagascar/Stuppel quartz lamp pair …$16,000. No, that extra zero is not a typo.

Cubist lacquer cabinet …$3200…I actually think one could find this piece at an estate sale one day…it’s Lane! I imagine seeing it, unlacquered and covered with mildew in a corner marked $250. I’ll be there waiting.

On e-bay…..Buy It Now for only $3,999.99 plus $50 shipping. 1950 Gaetano Sciolari for Stilnovo. My file of light fixtures is crazy heavy on the Sciolaris. I will be repeating myself with another divine Sciolari creation at some point. It’s just inevitable.

So….ever since I saw the photos of Kelly Wearstler’s OTT Beverly Hills home, I’ve been trying to source her drawing room sofas. Weeks of searching high and low. All the Vogue article said was “Wearstler upholstered the seventies sofas in soft leather.” Thanks guys.
Why am I so intent on sourcing the designer of these sofas….that’s a GREAT question. In reality this is a lottery pick post. Those sofas were probably outrageously expensive, even with stains and cigarette burns on them….and found only in Europe. She’s furnishing a multi-million dollar estate….I’m, well…not.
In my unhealthy obsession with these, I have had a lot of fun amid the frustration. Pouring over everything from old photos of Cini Boeri’s work (below) to today’s take on similar looks.

Love this outdoor option…but at $100 a slice plus shipping…it can add up…

I saw this on Design Milk this week from Incorporated NY…of course, no pricing.

…and don’t even get me going on De Sede…..

So…who made those damn sofas???? Maybe it’s obvious to all design junkies but me…if you know…please share and put me out of my misery.

I love you blue sofa….
