I have a few things working away to show you – the next phase of the driveway is finishing up, and I’m still trying to figure out storage in the laundry area, but in the meantime, I went on a cool house tour and wanted to share some of the details I enjoyed the most!
Castle Homes and Wade Weissmann Architecture have built a home to benefit the Nashville Symphony in Forest Hills, and it opens to the public TODAY! They invited  Julie Couch, Mark Simmons Interiors and Rozanne Jackson from The Iron Gate to design the interiors, and I got a sneak peek! For more photos of the rooms in their entirety, go HERE.
As we entered the home, we were asked to remove shoes or wear booties since there were some expensive rugs in the home, some in the $40k range. I really loved this one in the kitchen…
One of the first things I noticed is the sheer scale of every room in the house. 5500 sf with tall ceilings make the entire house seem incredibly spacious.
I have always loved an elevated fireplace, your back will get toasty while you eat at the kitchen island (that is probably the size of 2 pool tables end to end – no kidding)

I also noticed that the use of antiqued mirror was a consistent theme in the finishes, from free standing as below, or here as a backsplash in the bar area.
I really loved these boxy, soft club chairs.
Art in the master bath….
The art that stuck with me the most was the series of brass flowers by Tommy Mitchell. Â So delicate and just completely beautiful.
I also enjoyed seeing Julie Couch mix it up by upholstering the traditional settee in white cowhide. Clever and easy to clean!
And the chandy by Oly is a stunner.
Finally, the gravel patio beyond the back porch was covered in a material I was not familiar with, birds-eye gravel. It has the same color as pea gravel, but smaller stones with sharper edges. It looks great.
A great day out – I enjoyed the garden party with Carmen Johnston, Troy Marden, and delicious treats by Miss Daisy King.
