Fawn Love Friday

In an attempt to redeem myself…and to take a step away from the unfinished projects…let’s roll into the weekend with a little fawn love, shall we?

Our fawns are growing so fast…spending more time a little farther away from mom, and no longer nursing…best we can tell.  They are getting much more comfortable around the house, and us, so we feel a sort of protective responsibility towards them….like untouchable pets from a distance.

Drowning

So I lied, this week’s posting has been light as well…mainly because I do, what I do best: bite off  more than I can chew in the project department.  It’s not that the projects don’t get done….I just consistently underestimate the number of surprises that crop up and bring the whole project to a screeching halt.  Most people would learn by now, but me?  Nah.  I must secretly like to disappoint myself.

EVERYTHING I have scored on Craigslist lately is a project, so my Crafty Counterpart is not too happy.   I’m cluttering up the garage with my “projects” so you can imagine.

I’m almost done with the coffee table…hopefully, I can post that baby soon.  Oh..and the pine straw…yeah, that’s coming too.  I know….I’m LAAAAAME.  Take a number.

Lottery Pick

Saw this and knew immediately…we need a new category around here.  I’ve seen them on other blogs…the endless morsels of eye candy that are completely unattainable…BUT sometimes it’s fun to play….”If I won the lottery*…..”

This Paul Evans fantabulousness is going on the auction block September 12 at Rago, I’m aching…and weeping…..

* Of course this is the money you have left over once the aged parents, charitable causes and purchase of an overseas home have all been attended to…c’mon.

Rockin’

Just saw these on Decor8 – Guest blogger Jon, from Happy Mundane was posting his favorite things and I fell in love with these wooden ‘rocks’.   Designed by Mamoru Fukui, Daimon Kanno and Yuta Fuki, these have been picked up by Umbra for US distribution.  Technically, it’s a stacking game in the spirit of Jenga…but, like Jon, I appreciate how beautiful they are on display.

Craigslust

Nice Craigslist weekend.  As some may remember, I’ve been lusting after some Woodard Sculptura for years now, but couldn’t find the right deal for my budget.  My Crafty Counterpart assures me that a little mig welding is well within his comfort zone, soooooo…challenge accepted.

I manage to find both a loveseat and a chaise, (yeah, a freakin’ chaise!) which need our love for $200…and an hours drive from here.  MmmmHmmmm.  I’m happy, they’re happy…the sellers were these groovy mid-century furniture dealers turned miniature horse farmers (craziest, cutest damn things I’ve seen in ages).

I have houseguests coming this week and can’t wait/MUST use them, so I might just add cushions until the welding can be done. The chaise needs a heat gun and some WD-40 to allow the back to adjust as it has rusted in the current position…no worries though…it will be fine.  I’ll post some pics once they are cleaned up and repainted.
