Q & A

Hey guys, I know I’ve been very lame and MIA. I’m annoyed with me too. I haven’t even downloaded the pics off my camera from Maine, so yeah, I’m a deadbeat.

In my meager defense, I have volunteered to be webmaster for both Thing One’s school, and our local community pool, and between those two (and this being the first full week of school) by the time I finish that work, I want to run far away from the computer. Things will settle down soon, and I’ll get back to the business of oversharing stuff no one cares about, I promise. Teaser: I think we’ll be starting to redo the half bath very soon!!!

To hold you over, I am featured over at Life À la Mode by the fabulous Tabbulous, Tabitha Tune. This girl knows her food as well as she knows social media, and I always learn something cool from her culinary adventures.

Click here to see what I had to say about learning how to be a successful thrifter/renovator. Thanks for having me Tabitha!

D*S Round-Up

Hey guys…guess what?  I am shocked and very excited to report that our exterior makeover made the Design Sponge Before and After Best Of: Outdoor Spaces round-up! Check it out here.

Minor detail, they called me Karen, but I can understand why…3 of the projects in the round up are hers…and I am a TAODS fan, so I’m flattered they could even consider confusing us.  Poor Karen.

Anyway, that’s made my day, so, thanks Kate/Grace and I”ll see you at the Nashville D*S book tour stop!

Chalkboard Paper Shout Out

Megan at Shelterrific was diggin’ on the chalkboard contact paper from the basil vinaigrette post over here, so I figured it might be helpful to expand a little further…

I bought the paper here this Spring because I was sick and tired of scraping labels when I decided to change pantry items and receptacles.  To keep it uniform, I used a gift tag punch, and now I keep a little stack of labels on the ready.

Beacuse I have a memory like a sieve, I also find it helpful to write the ratios for cooking on these little guys…like so…

It’s the little things like this that make me happy to be a super-dork.
