Switcheroos

While we haven’t been making any more progress in the pantry, I decided to rearrange furniture and art everywhere. At least that is something that can be done and finished, until I do it again.

For those who participated in the Moon vs. Mushroom lamp vote on Instagram/FB..the Moon won in the end, simply because I liked the Mushroom in the dining room. I need to reshoot all these rooms in their entirety, but it has been so dark out for so long, I got tired of waiting. When the light returns…better photos will emerge.

And a major art rearrange in this corner…not loving it, but am rolling with it for now.

The entry feels more open without the deco buffet….

I have some fun things I hope I can share with you soon, but I can’t yet…in the meantime we are scrambling to make these things happen…cryptic, I know, but it hopefully explains our lack of progress on other fronts.

I have thrown up a few of these updated pics on the house tour since I realized they were pretty old, but when I re-shoot in good flat light, I’ll swap them out since these really are terrible. Please let the wet darkness end……

Mini Tour Outtakes

Thanks again to all of you who left such lovely comments on the mini tour…you really made this Nervous Nellie feel so much more at ease, and I’m grateful to have such awesome friends on these here interwebs.

I thought you might have fun checking out a few of the snaps showing some of the changes around here that didn’t make the cut!

I’ve purposely not shown much of the kids rooms because I feel like it’s invading their privacy, but I relented since we were doing a post about living with kids…they have to live somewhere, right?!

For this tour, I didn’t declutter as much as I usually do..I kinda let it be, especially in the kids rooms.

You can tell I was “keepin’ it real” here…the cluttered bulletin board etc..was not cleaned up …probably should have been!

The blue horses have moved to the dining room for the moment, but you know me, they’ll be somewhere else in a couple of months.

Can you believe it? No Otto photo bombs! Only because he was here while I was shooting…

He finally got tired of my shooing him behind me and decided to take advantage of my preoccupation by sneaking up to the boys rooms. Luckily it only cost us a pair of socks.

Tour Chapter 4

Trying to get back on the tour this week…next up……Ye Olde Dining Room.

Plans for in here might involve removing the chair rail.  It is out of place with the architecture methinks.  No other room in the house has it.  I think the previous owners wanted to trad up this room for coziness.  I wanted to paint it black to hide it, but since I wanted the rest of the trim white, I thought that would look weird too.  I still love the matte black in here, but that rail is GOING.

Tour Chapter 3

I’m finally back on the tour and have added the kitchen…you’ll get to see the new shelf all in place!  For new readers, we did the entire kitchen ourselves with the exception of tiling the back splashes.  At that point we were over it.

The kitchen is actually not finished, but it’s been good enough for the past year and a half while we tackled other, more interesting projects.  We really need to get on that.

To see the kitchen before and now, go here.

Now to update the living room…
