Friday Flea

Today’s flea was an auditory affair. “It’s hot as Hades, Idinit?….Hot as a bug on a lightbulb….so hot the corn is popping in the field…” You get the picture.  In between hearing all these fab comments from fellow shoppers and vendors, I heard some Michael Jackson tributes, which put a smile on my face. I turned the corner to hear a little Robert Plant and Allison Krauss, then some big band….all while the race cars from the adjacent Nashville Speedway kept a low roar going.  Fun day for the ears.

Not a stellar shopping day though, but maybe it was because I was dehydrating quickly and losing focus.  I turned the first corner to see this…could it be a hunky burly table?

Aw, now!  Why did they have to go and ruin it with that?!

Moving on…..

Too bad the veneer was toast on these…too much work needed for the money.

This woman is retail all the way, but I think she’s been doing well…I’ve never photographed her stuff since it’s not my thing, but I know a lot of people love this…tons of french furniture kitted out in burlaps and printed grain sacks.  She’s also indoors and I spent longer indoors today than usual, for obvious reasons.

I loved looking at this giant water lilly…..so what did I get today?

A pair of stools needing some love and a little tree….I spent a whopping $22 today.  Must. Take. Cold. Shower. Now.

Friday Flea

I had to be quick at the flea today….so I couldn’t go in every nook and cranny….

I thought that yellow dinette was perfect for some youngster..4 chairs total.

I loved this….it’s actually a bench to some huge organ, but it’s too tall to be a bench in real life…but could be a great console….

My attraction to orange has not waned…..

I got excited when I saw this….

Then less so at $175……

The thing I’m wishing I’d picked up for the booth the most…..

These fab end tables…dammit.

Looking at the photos I hate myself now…it was hard to snap these as I was smushed up against an armoire to get this weird angle.  They SO won’t still be around later…That’s what I get for hiking 4 miles before the flea…fuzzy judgment.  Have a great weekend!

Friday Flea

Well, today was the busiest Friday I’ve seen at the market since I started my new flea schedule.  Heaving I tell ya.  Get thee to the flea this weekend if you can…busiest weekend besides the October market according to my buddy at the gate.  I’m posting this as quick as I can, so if you read this today…you might be able to go today…because everyone here knows it’s “callin’ for rain” tomorrow.  Apparently there is a pretty nasty storm coming through tomorrow, but in middle Tennessee, it “calls for rain” whereas in west Tennessee it’s “fixin’ to rain.”

It’s going to rain people.  Go today if you can.

Everyone was in a good mood today…good vibes, good weather…I even had a vendor ask to be in my photo….HE was fun.

This fabulous thing below haunts me EVERY MONTH.  I wanted it so bad when I first saw it and didn’t even know what it was.  Then Morgan at The Brick House found one for a song…and this one has not budged in price all these many months….ONE DAY.

These below are a good deal…$40 for the pair, but the pleather is torn.  I’d have bought them for the booth, but my garage can’t handle another project right now.

There were some cool plants too, but I need a LOT of them and I’m still trawling around town to see what deals I can find.

In the end, despite the froog’s fantasy I saw today, I was good and saved my budget for the plant extravaganza….and only came home with ONE thing.

$10 shroom stool!

Do we think this mushroom thing is becoming a problem?  I’m taking suggestions on what should replace the poo colored velour….

Flea

So TWO weekends ago I hit the flea…couldn’t pull off the Friday deal this time, so I had to go on Saturday like most everyone else…

This was the best scene ever….vinyl chesterfield laden with real fur pelts….have I mentioned how much I LOVE flea markets?

Cool stuff, but I decided to pick up this number….you know how I say I never have enough shelves…..

Saturday Flea

So sad…and COLD.  Apparently, I only missed a few booths being open yesterday b/c today still had empty spots.  24 degrees may be chump change to our northern neighbors, but our southern sensibilities like it a bit warmer..and the vendors obviously agree.  Did I get anything else today?

So, I’ll stick to my Friday strategy next month and see what’s shakin’…should be much warmer.
